Adrian handles business matters, including supplier checks, contracts, negotiations and disputes. June Zhang handles cross-border family matters and estates in China. We identify the responsible lawyer and the relevant work before accepting the instruction.

Yes. We identify the responsible lawyer and main contact at the outset. If both lawyers or other professionals are involved, we explain their roles and how information will be coordinated.

Email is used to confirm scope, important decisions and deliverables. WhatsApp can be used for brief coordination, with calls or video meetings arranged when useful. We agree how progress will be reported, including when the next step depends on a document, another party or a procedural development.

For family matters, June Zhang leads the legal work; Adrian can assist with English-language coordination where agreed. Tell us if you need a safe contact method or time.

You can start with the situation in your own words. We organise the relevant facts, explain what remains unclear and ask you to confirm our understanding before the work proceeds.

Our explanation should help you distinguish what is known, what still needs checking and which choices are yours. If there are different routes, we explain the work, dependencies and cost considerations behind them instead of presenting a list of risks without a next step.

The documents and language versions included in a particular service are agreed separately. Legal explanation, translation and technical advice are different tasks.

Yes, where included in the instruction. A commercial matter may involve checking the relationship between the contracting company, payment recipient and factory; preparing or reviewing documents; attending negotiations; and agreeing the next stage if a dispute remains unresolved.

For on-site work, we set the questions and access arrangements before travelling, then distinguish direct observations from statements and facts we could not verify. Legal verification is not product testing or an engineering inspection.

For litigation, we first define the stage and the work needed: reviewing the facts and evidence, preparing for the agreed procedure, attending where required or considering a further step. Representation in one stage does not automatically include appeals, enforcement or every related proceeding.

For a family or inheritance matter, we identify the records, people and China-side steps involved, including what can be handled remotely and where personal attendance or further documents may be needed.

Yes. We can agree a defined first stage, such as reviewing a contract issue or assessing a payment dispute, before you decide whether further work is needed.

The proposal identifies the deliverable, exclusions, fee, materials and starting conditions for that stage. At its end, we explain the outstanding decisions. A later stage, new issue or additional document set needs a further scope and fee agreement.

A conflict check comes before acceptance and payment instructions. We confirm the start after cleared funds and the other agreed conditions are met.

The service pages are starting points, not the limit of what you can ask us to consider. We can define work involving linked services, several parties, an existing project, negotiations or support for your current legal and commercial team.

We separate the tasks, agree who is responsible and identify what each stage will produce. Technical testing, accounting work and advice outside the agreed mainland China legal scope remain with the relevant specialists.
